Zula Mae Woodall, 88, of Monticello died at 11:55 pm, Wednesday, October 21, 2009 at Whispering Pines. She was born June 13, 1921 at Indian Valley, Virginia the late Charles and Dorothy Horton. Her marriage was to Dow Woodall, and he preceded her in death January 15, 2008. Zula Mae had worked for Bryan Manufacturing, Monticello, Jessups Paper Box, Brookston, and the Chalmers Post Office. She enjoyed cooking, bingo, garage sales, and dancing. Above all she enjoyed time spent with her family. Survivors include: daughter, Shirley Wilkerson of Monticello; sister, Hazel "Prentie" Thomas of Burnettsville; 4 grandchildren, Debbie Krieger of Pennsylvania, Donna Wilkerson of Monticello, Darlene Davis of Monticello, and Donald L. Wilkerson of Reynolds; 7 great-grandchildren; and 6 great-great grandchildren. She is also preceded in death by a son, Max E. Miller, Sr.; 4 brothers; 2 sisters; and 1 grandson. Visitation will be from 11 am until 1 pm Saturday, October 24 at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow at 1 pm, Saturday at the funeral home with Rev. Chris Dodson of the Monticello Christian Church officiating. Burial will be at Brookston Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the White County Food Pantry.
