Zelda Marie Jennings

Zelda Marie Jennings, 101, of Monticello, passed away on January 3, 2025 at White Oak Health Campus in Monticello.

She was born on July 25, 1923 in Monticello on the Jennings farm to the late Walter William and Fara (Schultz) Jennings.

Zelda attended Monticello South Side School and went on to be a care giver. She worked in childcare for 15 years and elder care for more than 30 years. 

She was a member of St. James Lutheran Church in Reynolds and was active with the ladies groups of both St. James and Our Savior Lutheran Churches.

Zelda enjoyed cooking and baking, especially chocolate chip cookies for her nieces and nephews, raising funds for breast cancer by making beaded bracelets, reading and completing crossword puzzles, BINGO and listening to music. She especially enjoyed spending time with her nieces and nephews.

She is survived by her brother, Ralph (Linda) Jennings of Florida; nieces and nephews, Keven Jennings, Steve (Linda) Jennings, Mark (Sherry) Jennings, Trina (John) Ersoy, Susan (Steve) Kendig, Debbie (Bill) Morris, Julie (Mel) Denton, Kirk (Tracie) Dahlenburg; and several great nieces and great nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by siblings, Ruth L. Dahlenburg, Shirley A. Jennings, Frederick W. Jennings and Donald E. Jennings.

Visitation will be from 11:00 am until the time of services at 12:00 pm on Wednesday, January 8, 2025 at St. James Lutheran Church in Reynolds.

Burial will follow in St. James Lutheran Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are encouraged to St. James Lutheran Church. Envelopes will be available at the church.
