Wilma J. Runyon, 84, of Monticello, passed away at 2:55 pm, Saturday, February 7, 2015 at IU Health White Memorial Hospital. She was born on January 22, 1931, Pine Village to the late John and Oral (Tribbett) Kiger. On January 22, 1950 she married Donald Runyon in Linden, and he preceded her in death May 17, 2000. She was a 1948 graduate Linden High School. She was baptized in the Linden Methodist Church, and later attended the Monticello Christian Church. She was primarily a homemaker but worked several years at Lakeview Commons in the kitchen where she helped prepare meals. Wilma loved making jelly, playing pinochle, mushroom hunting, working in her yard, and was an avid sports fan. Wilma's greatest passion was her family and spending time with her children, but most especially, with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by children, Neisha (Thomas) Kennedy of Brookston, Larry (Debra) Runyon of Wildwood, MO, Randy (Christy) Runyon of Monticello, Kim "Kimbo" (Tracey) Runyon of Monticello; brothers, Marion (Rose) Kiger of Crawfordsville, Dean (Sue) Kiger of Linden, Gerald (Janice) Kiger of Linden; twelve grandchildren; and seventeen great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a son Terry Runyon; and a sister, Mereadus Craig Visitation will be from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm Friday, February 13, 2015 at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home of Monticello. Funeral services will be at 11:00 am Saturday at the funeral home with Rev. Chris Dodson of the Monticello Christian Church officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview I.O.O.F Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation with envelopes available at the funeral home.
