Virgil R. "Bob" Duddy, 81, of Monticello passed away at 6:15 p.m., Wednesday, January 28, 2009 at White County Memorial Hospital. He was born on March 27, 1927 in Monticello to the late Floyd J. and Rachel Irene (Guy) Duddy. His marriage was to Bonnie Allison on January 21, 1961 in Monticello. She Survives. Mr. Duddy served in the United States Navy during WWII. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Monticello. Other survivors include: Daughter, Jacklyn (Dennis F.) Long of Kendallville, IN; Son, James D (Susan) Duddy of Kimmell, IN; 2 Step-Daughters, Patricia C (Charles) Pearson of Olympia, WA, Janice Wollenhaupt of Ocean Springs, Miss; 2 Brothers, Wayne (Joyce) Duddy of Rockfield, IN, Donald Duddy of Elkhart, IN; Many grandchildren and Many Great-Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his Parents; Two Sisters; and a Step-Son, Richard Allison. Visitation will be from Noon until 1 p.m., Saturday, January 31 at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home Funeral services will follow at the funeral home Saturday at 1p.m. with the Rev. Ryan Bailey of the First Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be at Riverview I.O.O.F. Cemetery, rural Monticello.
