Violet L. Crawford Cauble, 92, of Monticello, died at 12:52 am, Monday, July 23, 2012 at IU Health White Memorial Hospital. She was born May 22, 1920 in White County to the late Frank and Grace (Hanawalt) McCollum. Her first marriage was to Robert G. Crawford on May 22, 1939. He preceded her in death in 1963. She then married Woodrow Woody Cauble on July 14, 1968 in Wolcott, and he preceded her in death January 28, 1991. Mrs. Cauble was a member of the First Baptist Church in Monticello. Mrs. Cauble worked at RCA for 12 years, retiring in 1979. She also worked at Whites Variety Store in Monon and worked as cook at the Tippecanoe Country Club. She was a member of Remington Eastern Star Chapter 169 OES for 59 years. She also belonged to the Eagles Auxiliary in Monticello. She had lived in White County most of her life. She loved to play cards. She enjoyed baking and decorating cakes. She was known for her coconut cream pies. She is survived a daughter, Donna (Larry) Bush of Monticello; son, Leroy "Butch" Crawford of Monticello; brother, August (Lois) McCollum of Indianapolis; stepson, Howard (Ginny) Cauble of Monticello; 4 stepdaughters, Connie Cauble of Yeoman, Diane (Don) Mull of Delphi, Tammie (Damon) Baumgardner of Yeoman, Vickie Ball of Yeoman; 7 grandchildren; 10 step- grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 12 step-great-grandchildren; 17 great-great-grandchildren; and 1 step-great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by a brother, Jessie McCollum; sister, Velma Jean Hughes; grandson, George Robert Crawford; and great grandson Domonick Eastman. Visitation will be from 4pm until 8pm, Wednesday, July 25, 2012 at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home and also 1 hour prior to services at the church Thursday. Eastern Star services will be at 7:30 pm. Wednesday at the funeral home. Funeral services will be at 10:30am, Thursday, at the First Baptist Church of Monticello, with Rev. Ryan Bailey officiating.
