Vesta M. Boze, 94, of Monticello, died at 7:09 am, Thursday, August 5, 2010 at Monticello Assisted Living and Healthcare Center. She was born in White County October 16, 1915 to the late Martin and Irma (Rouhier) Cartmell. Her marriage was to Maynard Boze on January 13, 1934 in Knox, Indiana. He preceded her in death January 22, 2001. She was a 1932 graduate of Idaville High School. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Monticello. She was a homemaker, worked as a housekeeper, and sold Avon. She volunteered at the White County Food Pantry. She also operated a clothing donation center in Monticello. She is survived by daughters, Irma Hobbs of Toledo, Ohio, Carlita Williams of Logansport; grandchildren, Dennis Tyler, Melinda Robertson, Angie Lombardi, Brian Boze, Natalie Boze; and six great-grandchildren. She is also preceded in death by a son, Phillip Boze; a daughter, Marlene Tyler; sister, Frieda Brown and Flossie Wilkerson; brothers, Charles Cartmell and Michael Rouhier. Visitation will be from 11 am until 1 pm, Monday, August 9, at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home. A deacons prayer circle will be at 11:15 am. Funeral services will follow at 1 pm, with Rev. Tom Albaum of the First Presbyterian Church of Monticello officiating. Burial will be in Riverview I.O.O.F. Cemetery, rural Monticello.
