Velma L. Andrews

Velma L. Andrews, 88, of Evans, Georgia, formerly of Monticello died at 10:56 am Monday, November 23, 2009 at the Brandonwild Nursing Home in Evans. She was born May 3, 1921 in White County, Indiana to the late Harry and Jennie (McCall) Andrews. Miss. Andrews was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Monticello. She had been a legal secretary for more than 40 years for attorney Charles Boomershine. Although career oriented, she loved time spent outdoors enjoying the family farm. She was a farm girl at heart. She also enjoyed horses. She was committed to assisting senior citizens of Monitcello. Survivors include a brother, Robert (Dorris) Andrews of Evans, Georgia; 3 nieces, Susan Andrews of Boston, MA, Jennifer (Robert) Shook of Denver, Colorado, Elaine (Jimmy) Lea of Augusta, Georgia. Visitation will be one hour prior to 10 am funeral services Thursday, December 3, 2009 at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home. Anella McFee will officiate services. Burial will be private.
