Steven D. Schroeder

Steven D. Schroeder, 76, of Monticello, passed away on Tuesday, October 15, 2024 at his residence.

He was born on October 28, 1947 in Lafayette to the late Herman and Dorothy (Farmer) Schroeder.

He was a 1965 graduate of Chalmers High School. He received his bachelor's degree from Valparaiso University and his MBA from Indiana State University. He served in the United States Army during Viet Nam. He then built a career as an accountant.

He was a life long member of St. James Lutheran Church. Steven was a sports enthusiast, especially enjoying the Chicago Cubs, Bears and Bulls.

Surviving are his siblings, Michael (Sharon) Schroeder of Reynolds, Jeanne (Eric) Blake of Ft. Myers, FL, William K. (Denise) Schroeder of Reynolds, and Donald Schroeder of Reynolds; brother-in-law, Bruce White of Darlington, IN; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by a sister, Noreen White.

Graveside services will be at 3:00 pm (EDT) on Wednesday, October 23, 2024 at St. James Lutheran Cemetery with military rites rendered. Pastor Andrew Keller will officiate services. 

Memorial contributions may be given to St. James Lutheran Childcare Ministry. Donations may be mailed directly to the church or to the funeral home.
