Steven J. Cochran

Steven J. Cochran, 65, of Monticello, passed away at 4:35 am, Monday, July 21, 2014 at White Oak Health Campus in Monticello. He was born on October 30, 1947 in Lafayette to the late Albert C. and Margaret (Dondlinger) Cochran. On April 20, 1968 he married Karen (Minniear) at the Monticello United Methodist Church, and she preceded him in death. He was a 1966 Graduate of Twin Lakes High School and served in the Indiana Army National Guard. He worked for Subaru, Lafayette in maintenance. He was a member of the Monticello United Methodist Church. He enjoyed computers, and visiting with his friends and family. He also enjoyed being the neighborhood taxi for his friends. He is survived by two brothers, Vernon (Brenda) Cochran of Ellettsville, Gordon "Gordie" (Marty) Cochran of Monticello; sister, Jean (Jim) Newton of Monticello; and several nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by sons, Scott A. and Bradley J. Cochran. Graveside memorial services will be at 10:30 am, Saturday, July 26, 2014 at Chalmers Cemetery with Rev. Sue Ringenbach of the Monticello United Methodist officiating. Memorial contributions are suggested to the White County Food Pantry. Envelopes will be available at the cemetery and also at the funeral home.
