Steven F. Burns, 63, of Monticello died at 5:21 am, Thursday, September 23, 2010 at Clarian Arnett Hospital of Lafayette. He was born October 27, 1946 in Rensselaer to the late Francis "Red" and Marie (Vogel) Burns. Steven was a graduate of Twin Lakes High School and served in the National Guard as a MP. He was a member of Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church. He had been the service manager at Kenney Implement and owned Video Plus. He was an excellent cook and wood craftsman. He was a good skeet shooter and also enjoyed fishing. Steven cherished time spent with his grandchildren and enjoyed coffee at the USA Restaurant. The family wishes to extend special appreciation to Liberty Dialysis with a special thanks to Darlene. He is survived by sons, Ted (Carrie) Burns of Indianapolis, David (Carrie) Burns of Monticello; daughter, Jennifer (Steve) Hughes of Burnettsville, brothers, Mark A. (Nancy) Burns of Monticello, Michael J. (Vicki) Burns of West Palm Beach, FL; sisters, Liz M. (Phil) Brummett of Waterloo, IN, Debra K. (Jay) Hughes of Indianapolis, Beverly A. (Ron) McMurray of Monticello; and grandchildren, Erica Burns, Owen Burns, Addie Burns, Brandon Hughes, Ella Hughes, and Emma Hughes. Visitation will be from 2 pm until 6 pm, Sunday, September 26, at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home. A Rosary service will be at 5:30 pm. Funeral services will be at 10:30 am, Monday at the funeral home, with Father Gerald Borawski officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview I.O.O.F. Cemetery, rural Monticello. Memorial donations may be given to the American Kidney Foundation. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. You may sign the online guestbook at www.springervoorhisdraper.com
