Stella J. Kraay

Stella J. Kraay, 94, of Monticello, formerly of Reynolds, passed away at 10:19 am, Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at White Oak Health Campus.She was born on February 27, 1924 in Greene County, IN to the late Alonzo A. and Daisy May (Deckard) Musser. Her marriage was to Russell E. Kraay and he preceded her in death June 11, 1984.She was a member of the Reynolds United Methodist Church. Stella was a homemaker and farm wife but later worked as a cook at Purdue University from which she retired. She enjoyed embroidery, gardening, tending to her yard and flowers and canning. She was a good farmer's cook and was known for her pies, especially her apple and coconut cream pies.She is survived by her children, Shirley (Jan) Rose of Reynolds, and Kenneth (Debra) Kraay of Anderson; four grandchildren, Travis Rose, Bryan McDaniel, Carrie Brown, and Zachary Kraay; and seven great grandchildren, Emily, Sara, Lauren, Kris, Samantha, Kate, and Brooke.In addition to her husband, Russell she was also preceded in death by four brothers and 2 two sisters.Visitation will be from 12:00 pm (EDT) until the time of funeral services celebrating Stella's life at 1:00 pm, Monday, November 19, 2018 at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home of Monticello. Pastor Nikki Rice of the Reynolds United Methodist will officiate services.Burial will follow at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens in West Lafayette.Memorial contributions may be given to the Reynolds United Methodist Church or Alzheimer's Association.
