Shirley Scherer

Shirley L. Scherer, 64, of Monon, died at 1pm on Thursday, February 18, 2010 at Home Hospital. She was born August 6, 1945 in Lafayette to the late Peter J. and Edith (Warner)Leuck. She married Bill A. Scherer on August 12, 1967 in Dunnington, IN. He survives in Monon. Mrs. Scherer was a member of Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church. She worked at APW and Annis Food Liner. She enjoyed playing cards, spending time with her grandchildren, especially attending their sporting events. She was an awesome cook. Mrs. Scherer enjoyed shopping, reading and overall nuturing her family. She is also survived by 2 Sons, John (Catherine) Scherer of Monon, Mark (Fiance Lisa McCarty) Scherer of Lafayette; Daughter, Jill (Jeff) Loy of Brookston; Brother, Dennis Leuck of Lafayette; 2 Sisters, Janece Milks of Lafayette, Diane Leuck of Lafayette; Grandsons, Zach and Cody Loy and Bryce Scherer. She is preceded in death by one brother, Gary Leuck. Visitation will be 4pm to 8pm, Sunday, February 21, 2010 at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home. A rosary will be receited at 7:30pm. A funeral mass will be held at Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church, Monday, February 22, 2010 at 10:00am with Father Gerald Borwaski officiating. Burial will be in Riverview I.O.O.F.
