Shirley L. Katchmar

Shirley L. Katchmar, 85, of Monticello, passed away at 9:15 pm, Friday, September 9, 2016 at Monticello Healthcare.She was born on July 9, 1931 in Chicago to the late John and Louise Tomaszewski.On October 28, 1950 she married Edward Katchmar in Chicago. He preceded her in death on August 19, 2008. Shirley attended high school in Chicago and then worked as a manager of a bowling center for several years before moving to Monticello.She was a member of Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church. She enjoyed cooking and doing things around her home.She is survived by her son, Daniel (wife, Bernie) Katchmar of Monticello; three brothers, Robert Tomaszewski of Highland, Art (Sandy) Tomaszewski of Dyer, Johnny (Mitzy) Tomaszewski of Lansing, IL; two grandchildren, and one great granddaughter.She was also preceded in death by a sister, Deloris Graykowski, and brother, Hank Tomaszewski.Rosary will be prayed at 3:45pm on Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home of Monticello. Visitation will follow from 4pm until 8pm at the funeral home.A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30am on Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church with Father David Rasner celebrating.Burial will follow in Riverview I.O.O.F Cemetery.Memorial contributions may be given to Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church.
