Sandra M. "Sandy" Foley, 83, of Monticello, passed away on October 29, 2021 at I U Health White Memorial Hospital.
She was born on October 8, 1938 in Shelbyville to the late Robert and Viola (Downs) Alpha. She married Charles Foley and they later divorced, but remained life long friends.
She was a graduate of Monticello High School. After graduation, Sandy moved to California for several years. She returned home and worked at RCA for a short time and then worked as a waitress at Bakes Lunch and the American Legion both of Monticello. She moved to Kokomo and worked at Delco Electronics in Kokomo for 28 years from which she retired. Retirement brought her back home to Monticello where she enjoyed her home, being a bookworm, and doing her cryptogram puzzle books. She was baptized at Sitka Baptist Church. She was a lifetime member of the American Legion Women's Auxiliary.
She is survived by her brother, Barry (Susan) Alpha of Monticello; nieces and nephews, Amy Hulka, Scott Alpha, Tya Peters,Renee Clark, Robert Alpha, Jakie Newhaus, and Kaylie Wetsiepe.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by brothers, Robert Ed, and Jack Alpha; and nieces, Kim and Leslie Alpha.
Visitation will be Saturday, November 6, 2021 from 1:00 pm until the time of services at 2:00 pm celebrating Sandy's life at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home of Monticello. Dr. James Elliott of Sitka Baptist Church will officiate services.
Burial will follow in Riverview I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be given to a Humane Society of the donor's choice. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
