Sandra Kay "Sandy" Cheever, 77, of Monticello, passed away on Sunday, May 8, 2022 at Monticello Healthcare.
She was born on December 4, 1944 in Goodland to the late Lester O. and Dorothy (Hood) Peck.
Sandy was baptized at Goodland Baptist Church. She was a cook for over 38 years working at TIVOLI in Goodland and Sportsman and Riverside in Monticello. She loved the CUBS, Purdue Men's Basketball and game shows, especially Jeopardy. Sandra also loved watching hummingbirds. She cherished her family, especially her grandchildren.
Surviving are her children, James (Cindy) Cheever of Spencer, Bill (Lori) Cheever of Monticello, Maria Jacobia of Wichita, KS, Heather (Kevin) McCormick of Monticello, Robin (Galen) Logan of Monticello, Stephanie (Michael) Meyer of Monticello; and one brother, Karel "Pete" (Sherry) Peck of Lafayette; grandchildren, Brendon Cheever (fiance Makenzie), Alissandra (Tanner) Johnson, Nicholas Cheever, Brent Rosenberger, Terra Rosenberger, Autumn Jacobia, Audra Jacobia, Douglas Jacobia, Matthew Jacobia, Jenna Ann McCormick, Myles Meyer and Arianna Meyer; and great grandchildren, Tynleigh Johnson, Toby Johnson and Theodore Cheever.
She was also preceded in death by siblings,Ted Peck, Betty DeGroot, Janet Legler, Robert Peck, Doris Zollman, and James Heldt; and two infant great-grandsons, Kendale J. and Jameson T. McCormick.
Funeral services are private.
Burial will be in Goodland Cemetery, Goodland.
Memorial contributions may be given to her daughter, Heather McCormick to help offset expenses. Contributions may be mailed to the funeral home.
