Rosie M. Elmore

Rosie M. Elmore, 91, of Monticello passed away at 5:45 am, Sunday, March 1, 2009 at Monticello Assisted Living and Healthcare Center. She was born on June 16, 1917 near Idaville, Indiana to the late James and Mabel M. (Hastings) Collins. Her marriage was to Fred R. Elmore on June 30, 1934 in Monticello. He preceded her in death on July 23, 1992. She attended Idaville High School. She was a secretary for RCA for more than 38 years retiring August 1, 1977. She attended the Monticello Christian Church. She was a life member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. Survivors include: Daughter, Sherry (Mike) Dickison of Montciello, IN; Son, David (Nancy) Elmore of Brookston, IN; 6 Grandchildren; 14 Great-Grandchildren; and 1 Great-Great Grandchild. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; 3 brothers; and 4 sisters. Visitation will be from 11am until 1 pm, Thursday, March 5 at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 1 pm at the Funeral Home with the Rev. Chris Dodson of the Monticello Christian Church officiating. Burial will be at Riverview I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
