Rosetta 'Jane' Barnes

Rosetta Jane Barnes, 75 of Burnettsville died at 12:47 am, Monday, June 13, 2011 at Indiana University Hospital in Indianapolis . She was born October 29, 1935 in Logansport to the late Homer Clyde and Era Kathleen (Hood) Haynes. Her marriage was to Herbert Dean Barnes on August 28, 1954 in Burnettsville. He preceded her in death May 11, 1987. She was a member of the Burnettsville First Baptist Church . She was a 1954 graduate of Royal Center High School and attended Indiana University at Kokomo . She was a very active member of the White County Democratic Party. She served as the White County Clerk, Recorder, and Auditor. She was a member of Monticello Kiwanis Club, Business and Professional Women, and the Indiana State Clerks Association. She was also a member of the Jacksonnettes Extension Club. She is survived by two sons, Brad Barnes of Fishers, Brian (Leslie) Barnes of Burnettsville; brother, Larry (Brenda) Haynes of Monticello; ten grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Elizabeth Ann Barnes; three brothers; and three sisters. Visitation will be from 3:00 pm until 9:00 pm, Thursday, June 16,20ll at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home 202 S. Illinois St., Monticello, Indiana Funeral services will be at 10 am, Friday at the funeral home with Rev. Paul Scott officiating. Burial will follow at Davis Cemetery , Burnettsville. Memorial contributions may be given to the Monticello Kiwanis Club, or to the White County Food Pantry. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
