Rose H. Pilotte, 85, of Monticello passed away at 1:10 a.m., Friday, May 9, 2008 at Whispering Pines Rehabilitation Center. She was born July 19, 1922 in Milford, Illinois to the late Adam Scherer and the late Emma (Bessler) Scherer. Her marriage was to Kenneth Pilotte on June 7, 1945 in Fowler, Indiana. Kenneth survives in Monticello. A 1941 Graduate of Fowler High Shcool and a member of Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church. She was a homemaker. She enjoyed flowers, gardening, and crafts. She dearly enjoyed baking for her great-grandson. Survivors include: 2 Sons, Thomas (Cynthia) Pilotte of Wolcott, IN, Duane (Roberta) Pilotte of Wolcott, IN; Brother, Lawrence (Ann) Scherer of Fowler, IN; Sister, Leona Monjon of Delphi, IN; 2 Grandsons, Brian (Rachel) Pilotte of Wolcott, IN, Nicholas (Fiancee, Nikki Harris) Pilotte of Naperville, IL; Granddaughter, Miranda (Jason) Farmer of Little Rock, AR; Great-Granddaughter, Anna Pilotte; and Great-Grandson, Blake Pilotte. She was preceded in death by her parents; 5 brothers, Theodore, Joe, Anthony, Leo, and Bernard Scherer; and 1 sister, Bertha Wittenauer. Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m., Sunday, May 11 at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home. A Rosary Service will be held at 7 p.m. Funeral Services will be conducted at Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church, Monday, May 12, 2008, 10 a.m. with Father Gerald Borawski officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview I.O.O.F. Cemetery in rural Monticello. Memorials may be given to Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church for the benefit of the alter and rosary sodality, or to The Food Allergy & Anaphylaxis Network at www.foodallergy.org.
