Ronald Landis

Ronald Landis, 78, of Logansport, passed away at 6:51 pm, Wednesday, July 4, 2018 at Logansport Memorial Hospital.He was born on April 16, 1940 in Cass County at the family home to the late Charles W. "Cotton" and Dorothy (Allen) Landis. On November 15, 1979 he married the former Edna (Hancock) Smith in Pittsburg and she survives.He attended Burnettsville High School and then joined the Army and served most of his tour in Berlin, Germany. He later worked as a truck driver and also did road maintenance for the Carroll County Highway Department from which he retired. Ron enjoyed hunting, fishing, mushroom hunting, cutting wood and was a member of Prairie Timber Coon Hunters.Along with his wife, Edna he is survived by his son, Rodney Landis of Logansport; three step children, Carol McAnich of Monticello, Don (Mary) Smith of Rockfield, Doug (Jill) Smith of Raton, NM; siblings, Kay (Mert) Bridge of Idaville, Bobbie (Bill) Harrison of Logansport and Terry (Nancy) Landis of Idaville and several nieces and nephews.He was also preceded in death by sisters, Donna Logan, Doris Cosgray, Sue Sheaffer and infant sister, Dixie Eilene Landis.Visitation will be from 4:00 pm until the time of services of celebration at 7:00 pm Friday, July 13, 2018 at Lockport Church in Burnettsville with Pastor Nord Zootman officiating.Memorial contributions may be given to Lockport Church.
