Ronald C. Marzke, 74, of Monon, passed away at 4:59 am, Friday, July 15, 2016 at I.U. White Memorial Hospital in Monticello.He was born on October 15, 1941 in Salmon Arms, British Columbia, Canada to the late Konrad and Malvina (Tabert) Marzke.On April 20, 1968 he married Evelyn Gossell at St. James Lutheran Church in Reynolds and she survives.He graduated from Reynolds High School in 1959 and was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He worked at Alloy Rods in Monticello for 21 years and then for Girtz Industries for 24 years from which he retired. During his retirement he drove part time for Gutwein Motor Sales and currently for Molter Auto Sales.He was a member of St. James Lutheran Church in Reynolds and was very involved as a deacon, usher, Sunday school teacher, Sunday school superintendent, scripture reader, and a member of the dart ball team for over 30 years.Ron enjoyed motorcycle riding, bowling, fishing, and of course dart ball. He loved to tinker with anything and everything. He was always doing something and was never idle. He was very outgoing. He cherished time spent with family and neighbors and would drop whatever he was doing to help his family or others. In addition to his wife, Evelyn, he is survived by his children, Carl Marzke of Monon, Todd (wife, Audra) Marzke of Pensacola, FL, Angela (husband, Nathan) Hendress of Bennett, IA; and brother, Eric Marzke of Monticello; nine grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.Also preceding him in death were two sisters and three brothers. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm (ET) until 8:00 pm (ET) Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at St. James Lutheran Church in Reynolds.Funeral services celebrating Ron's life will be at 10:30 am (ET) Thursday at St James Lutheran Church in Reynolds with Rev. Charles Blakey officiating.Burial will follow at the St. James Lutheran Cemetery.Memorial contributions may be given to St. James Lutheran Church with envelopes available at the church.Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home of Monticello is entrusted with care.Online condolences and expressions of sympathy may be extended at www.springerfuneralhome.comFLOWER ARRANGEMENTS MAY BE DELIVERED TO ST.
