Robert T. Reed

Robert T. "Bob" Reed, 75, of Monticello died at 1:04 am, Tuesday, June 11, 2013 at Franciscan St. Elizabeth Health in Crawfordsville. He was born January 9, 1938 in Lafayette to the late Fred and Dorothy (Holliday) Reed. He married Donna Altman on June 13, 1970 at the old Monticello Christian Church. She survives. He was a graduate of Monticello High School. He was retired from Cheesebrough Ponds, Monticello and then worked for AO Smith. He had worked part-time at the Eagles, and most recently, worked as a school crossing guard for Twin Lakes School Corporation. He was a 48 year member of the Eagles Lodge #2570 of Monticello. He enjoyed watching all sports and was an AVID fan of the Oakland Raiders, New York Yankees, and Twin Lakes softball. He is also survived by two daughters, Heather (Jack) Stout of Indianapolis, Melissa (Kenny) Rice of Monticello; five grandchildren, Christopher (Kayla) Rice, Corbin Rice, Felicity Stout, Caelyn Rice, Conner Rice; two great-grandchildren, Macee and Brantlee; one niece; one great-niece; one great-nephew; and one great-great nephew. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Joan Huge. Visitation will be from 4pm until 8 pm, Thursday, June 13, 2013 at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home. An Eagles Memorial Service will be conducted at 7pm, Thursday at the funeral home. Funeral services will be at 10:30, Friday, June 14, 2013 at the funeral home with the Rev. Chris Dodson of the Monticello Christian Church officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview I.O.O.F. Cemetery, rural Monticello. Memorial contributions may be given to Riley Children's Hospital.
