Robert Lee Brockmeyer

Robert "Brock" Brockmeyer, 65, of Monticello, passed away at 5:15 pm, Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at Richard L. Roudebush VA Medical Center in Indianapolis. He was born on August 14, 1949 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Henry A. and Pearl Harriet (Barr) Brockmeyer. On August 29, 2000 he married Jo Ellyn Martin in Sevierville, TN. She survives in Monticello. After high school, Brock entered the United States Army, after which he attended Jacksonville State. He was self-employed and helped with the rehabilitation and release of injured wild animals in Ohio. He was a member of the Monticello United Methodist Church. He enjoyed fishing, camping and boating. He is survived by two sons, Nick Brockmeyer (companion, Nacole Maurer) of Elyria, OH, Nate (Becca) Brockmeyer of Silver Lake, OH; one daughter, Samantha (Nick) Knox of Elyria, OH; a sister, Diane (Kevin) McMahon of Florida; eleven grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter on the way. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Angela Brockmeyer. Funeral arrangements are private and entrusted to Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home of Monticello. Memorial contributions may be given to the American Lung Association or to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA). Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
