Robert L. Nash, 83, of Brookston, passed away at 4:30 pm, Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at I.U. Health Arnett Hospital in Lafayette.He was born on December 11, 1934 in Lafayette to the late Sara Nash. On February 4, 1956 he married Joan Ward in Yuma, AZ.Robert worked as crane operator at ALCOA from which he retired in 1996. He was a member of the Eagles 2570 and VFW Post 2231 both of Monticello. He was a lover of music and enjoyed playing bass guitar. He had his own band the Double Eagles for a number of years and most recently played bass guitar with the Culter Band.Surviving are his wife, Joan of Brookston; his children Deborah L. Buettgenbach of Brookston, and Robert M. Nash of Battle Ground; six grandchildren, William, Karri, Jake, Ryan, Rex, and Kelly; and fifteen great-grandchildren, Gwen, Mika, Bane, Ross, Elizabeth, Jack, Kathy, Zoey, Wyatt, Cheyenne, Lorelei, Margot, Zach, Bradon, and Ian.He was also preceded in death by a son, Gary G. NashVisitation will be at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home on Monday, April 23, 2018 from 11:00 am until the time of funeral services at 1:00 pm celebrating Robert's life. Pastor Sue Ringenbach of the Monticello United Methodist Church will officiate services.Burial will follow in Yeoman Cemetery.Memorial contributions may be given to the American Cancer Society with envelopes available at the funeral home.
