Robert 'Ed' Alpha

Robert Edward "Ed" Alpha, 71, of Monticello, died at 7pm on Monday, October 8, 2012 at St. Elizabeth East Hospital in Lafayette. He was born on November 19, 1940 in Monticello to the late Robert and Viola (Downs) Alpha. He graduated from Roosevelt High School. Mr. Alpha was a journeyman, taxidermist and truck driver. He was a member of the Redman Lodge and American Legion of Monticello. He was a past member of the AMVETS in Monticello. Mr. Alpha was a past member of the ABATE motorcycle club. He loved the outdoors, motorcycle trips and lived his life to the fullest. He loved his friends and family and was loved by all. He is survived by 3 daughters, Kim (Troy) Lyman of West Lafayette, Rene (Dave) Clark of Otterbein, Tya (Companion Kyle Peters) Alpha of Reynolds; Son, Robert "Robbi" Alpha of Monticello; Stepdaughter, Denene Bambico of Monticello; 2 Stepson, Dino Antonalli of Monticello, Billy Tass of Monon; Sister, Sandra Alpha Foley of Monticello; Brother, Barry (Susie) Alpha of Monticello;, 6 grandchildren, Several Nieces and nephews; Companion, Danielle Miller. He is also preceded in death by a brother, Jack. Visitation will be one hour prior to the Memorial service at 3pm on Sunday, October 14, 2012 at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home. Burial will be at Riverview I.O.O.F. cemetery in rural Monticello. Memorial donations may be given to the American Cancer Society. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
