Richard "Rick" Dean Sass, 63, of Monticello passed away at 9:00 a.m., Monday, December 31, 2007 at White County Memorial Hospital. He was born March 11, 1944 in Chicago to the late Ernest Sass, and the late Carol (Eding)Sass. His marriage was to Dawn Powers on July 6, 1979 in Monticello. He graduated from Twin Lakes High School in 1963. Mr. Sass was a construction worker. He was a veteran of the United States Army. He loved to fish and Bowl. He also enjoyed playing poker and doing crossword fill-ins. He was a lifetime member of the AMVETS and a member of the Eagle Lodge, both of Monticello. Survivors include: 2 Sons, Donald (Cheryl) Sass of Arkansas, Douglas (Trish) Sass of Lakeland, FL Step-Son, Clinton (Sonia) Craig of Monticello, IN Sister, Ida Mullins of Florida Brother, Donald (Pat) Sass of Delphi, IN 1 Grandchild, 8 Step Grandchildren, and 3 step Great-Grandchildren. Preceded in Death: Parents, One Brother,One Grandson and Two Step Grandchildren Visitation will be held from 1-4 p.m., Saturday, January 5. 2007 at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 4 p.m., Saturday, January 5, 2008, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the family.
