Rhonda Jane Stangle, 66, of Monticello, passed away on Thursday, January 27, 2022 at her residence surrounded by her family.
She was born on September 6, 1955 in Lebanon to the late Harry and Jean (Caldwell) Voorhis. On September 9, 1978, she married Eukie J. Stangle at the Monticello United Methodist Church and he survives.
She was a 1973 graduate of Twin Lakes High School and had worked as a clerk at Purdue University Student Health Center and Arnett Clinic on Greenbush scheduling appointments. Rhonda loved gardening and was a member and past secretary of Enter the Garden Club. In 2012, her home was on the garden walk. Rhonda loved Fall, Halloween, and Christmas. She enjoyed all genres of music. Her favorite color was yellow. Most of all, she cherished time with her family.
She was a member of Monticello United Methodist Church.
In addition to her husband, Eukie, she is survived by two children, Joseph J. (Bethany) Stangle of Lafayette, Betheny Stangle of Monticello; two granddaughters, Aurora Stangle, Claira Stangle; two sisters, Brenda Metcalf, Angela (Ken) Dyer both of Monticello; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a sister, Pamela Myers; brothers-in-law, Richard Myers and Russell Metcalf.
Visitation will be from 2:00 pm until 6:00 pm, on Sunday, January 30, 2022 at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home of Monticello.
Funeral services will be on Monday at 10:30 am at the funeral home with Rev. Brian Beeks of the Monticello United Methodist Church officiating.
Due to ongoing COVID concerns, the family encourages attendees to wear a mask.
Burial will follow in Riverview I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Monticello United Methodist Church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
