Phyllis J. Ellis

Phyllis J. Ellis, 82, of Delphi, died at 9:10 pm, Monday, May 3, 2010, at the home of her son in Idaville. She was born May 18, 1927 in Jasper County, Indiana to the late Firman and Flossie (Wiseman) Pettet. Her marriage was to Joseph B. Ellis on November 14, 1948 in Rensselaer. He preceded her in death September 19, 1983. She was a 1945 graduate of Rensselaer High School. She was a member of Oak Grove Christian Church. She was a homemaker and served eight years as Carroll County Deputy Recorder followed by two terms as Carroll County Recorder. She is survived by two sons, Bob (Brenda) Ellis of Idaville, Mike (Christina) Ellis of Burnettsville; three daughters, Vicky (Angelo) DiSalvo of Pompano Beach, Florida, Micky (Ron) Houston of Lafayette, Karen (Dean) Mullens of Monticello; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandson. Also preceding in her in death are two brothers, Gerald Pettet and Firman Pettet Jr.; and a sister Lois Murray. Visitation will be from 4 pm until 8 pm Thursday, May 6 at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 10:30 am Friday at the Funeral Home with Rev. Chris Dodson of the Monticello Christian Church officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview I.O.O.F. Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the Guardian Angel Foundation.
