Phyllis A. (Hanenkratt) Greenbough, 72, of Lafayette, passed away on June 10, 2023 following a brief illness surrounded by her loving family at her mother's home in Monticello.
She was born on June 2, 1951 in Fort Wayne to Roger D. and Ruth A. (Brenneke) Hanenkratt. Her mother survives. She was preceded in death by her father.
She married Steven Fisher of Monticello, who preceded her in death.
Phyllis was a 1969 graduate of Twin Lakes High School and received a bachelor degree from Purdue University. Her many interests included reading, cooking, sewing, quilting, and traveling. She spent time traveling in Mexico and was fluent in Spanish.
In addition to her mother, Ruth of Monticello she is survived by her siblings, Dan (Cindy) Hanenkratt of Monticello, Carol (Cengiz) Yetken of Oak Park, IL; nieces, Carrie (Brad) Smock of Monticello, Melike (Jeff) Yetken-Krilla of McLean, VA; and nephews, Chris Hanenkratt (companion, Shara Hansen) of Monticello, Tarik Yetken (partner, Florian Gador) of Los Angles; grand nieces and nephews, Colby, Luke and Jacob Smock, Elodie, Milo, Charlotte and Samantha Krilla.
The family would like to give a special thank you to her caregivers; Tina Snider, Mercedes Langemann, and Elara Caring Hospice.
Visitation will be Tuesday, June 13, 2023 from 10:00 am until the time of services celebrating Phyllis' life at 11:00 am at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home with Pastor John Westfall officiating.
Burial will follow at Riverview I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
