Phylis Jean Bridge , 82, of Buffalo and lifelong White county resident, died at 9:50 pm , Friday, December 17, 2010 , at White County Memorial Hospital . She was born August 31, 1928 at Monticello to the late Clarence E. and Mary (Hasting) Guss. Her marriage was to Wayne Bridge on October 12, 1948 in Idaville. He preceded her in death July 7, 1993 . She was a graduate of Buffalo High School . She worked as custodian for Pioneer High School from which she retired after twenty-five years. She was a member of White Oak Methodist Church, near Headlee. She had been active with the women's circle of the church. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, needlework, and collected angels. She is survived by sons, Garry (Rene) Bridge of Monticello , Dennis (Chris) Bridge of Flora ; daughters, Deborah (Tom) Mitchell of Burnettsville, Jill (Carl) Frye of Francesville; sisters, Helen Johns, Opal Monnett; ten grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 4 pm until 8 pm, Monday, December 20 at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 10:30 am, Tuesday at the funeral home with Rev. Tom Haynie from the Buffalo Christian Church officiating. Burial will follow at Indian Creek/Pro Cemetery, near Headlee.
