Penny Sue Boyd

Penny Sue Boyd, 61 of Monticello passed away on Friday, February 28, 2025 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on March 6, 1963 to the late Homer Foster and Dolly Jane (Harper) Amos. She married Ricky Lee Boyd on December 22, 2006 in Valparaiso. He survives.

Penny was a homemaker and received her General Education Degree from Danville Community College. She loved gardening, classic hotrods, anything Harley Davidson, and going to drag races at No Limits Raceway in northern Indiana. She also enjoyed horror movies including the Saw series and old Dracula movies. Playing Bunco with Georgene Kestner and her other Bunco lady friends was special and valuable to Penny. She especially cherished her grandchildren, Abagayle, Clayton, and Waylon and attending their sporting and 4H livestock events.

In addition to her husband, Ricky of Monticello and her grandchildren, she is survived by her son William (Amber) Carrigan of Fowler; stepdaughter, Marissa (Zach) Dredger of Minooka, IL; sister, Donna (William) Murray of Gonzales, LA; and ESA dog, King “Magnus” Arik.

Besides her parents, Penny is resting peacefully with her Boxer Dogs, Angel, Rockzee, and Sebashtian.

A private family celebration of life will take place at the convenience of the family.
