Paul Stanley Voorhis, Sr.

Paul Stanley Voorhis, Sr., 78, of Lebanon, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 12, 2014. He was born on September 22, 1935, in Lebanon, the son of the late Harry Ward Voorhis, Sr. and Clara (Vanfossan) Voorhis. Paul married Beverly Lottes on April 26, 1957 and they had been married 57 years. Paul attended Lebanon High School and then served in the Army and National Guard. After serving in the military, Paul worked as a route driver for over 30 years, distributing Little Debbie, Thomas Muffins, Brownsberry Bread and Entenmanns. Paul loved his children and grandchildren very much and enjoyed helping them with projects. He loved woodworking and building small projects. He was always willing to help anyone that needed a helping hand. Surviving family members include his wife, Beverly; children, Paul Voorhis, Jr., Diana Nelson, Mary (David) James, Teresa (Junior) Summers, Stacy (Steve) Voorhis-George and Lisa (Larry) Spears; grandchildren, Jake (Mandi) Pollard, Briana Voorhis, Jessica (Scott) Hulse, Josh Summers, Kaycee James, Danielle (Kevin) Allen and Austin Spears; great-grandchildren: Wayde Pollard, Jordan Hulse, Tucker Noel, Avryn Allen and Rowyn Allen; a brother, Harry (Pat) Voorhis Jr.; and many nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death are twin sister, Paula Stewart; sisters: Margaret Isenhower, Alberta Jones, Martha Ann Voorhis and a brother, Jim Jones. Family and Friends will gather Tuesday, June 17, 2014 for visitation from 4-8 pm and the funeral services will be Wednesday, June 18 at 10 am with the Pastor Jim Ramsey officiating in the Strawmyer & Drury Mortuary, 2400 N. Lebanon St., Lebanon, IN. Burial will follow at Lincoln Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Boone County Cancer Society, 117 W. Elm St., Lebanon, IN 46052.
