Patrick D. Lytle, 88, of Monticello, passed away at 2:20 am, Sunday, August 5, 2018 at IU Health White Memorial Hospital in Monticello.He was born on June 14, 1930 in Chicago to the late Cecil "Pete" and Delma (Gallinger) Lytle. On September 2, 1955 he married June M. Nelson on the family farm in Monticello and she survives. They were married nearly 63 years.He was a member of Monticello United Methodist Church and a long time member of Yeoman United Methodist Church where he served in several capacities. He helped with lunches and the youth group. Pat served in the Air Force during the Korean War as a Crew Chief and Instructor. He worked as a Field Service Engineer at Ross Gear from which he retired in 1989. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion and a member of NRA. He enjoyed wood working and traveling and especially enjoyed spending time with his family. Pat mentored many people during his career and private life. Pat was an outgoing person with a great sense of humor.The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Amber Hussain who was like family.He is survived by his children, James Lytle of Monticello and Paula Roller of Monon; granddaughter, Whitney Roller; and special friend, Kevin O"Farrell.He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Jeanne.Visitation will be from 10:00 am until the time of services at 11:00 am Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home of Monticello with Pastor Brian Beeks officiating.Burial will follow at the Yeoman Cemetery.Memorial contributions may be given to Monticello United Methodist Church.
