Patricia A. Hayden, 89, of Monticello, passed away on Tuesday, July 30, 2024 at Franciscan Health in Indianapolis.
She was born on July 19, 1935 in Lafayette to the late John and Edna (Schmitt) Steill. On January 14, 1956 she married James Hayden at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Lafayette. He preceded her in death on April 18, 1982.
Pat worked as a cook for Twin Lakes School Corporation.
She was a member of Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church and attended bible study. She liked flower and vegetable gardening, bird watching, crafting, reading and puzzles. She cherished time with her family, especially with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Surviving are her children, Cynthia Rentfrow of Monticello, James Hayden of Monticello, Donald A. Hayden of Monticello, Rebecca (Mike) Reynolds of Monticello, Steven R. (Heather) Hayden of Monticello, Nanette (Mike) Shaffer of Idaville, Joseph S. Hayden of Ft. Wayne; siblings, Ruth Price, Nick Steill, Edward Steill, and Theresa Steill; thirty grandchildren,twenty great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
In addition to her parents and husband, James, she was preceded in death by siblings, Stan Steill, Nancy Heick, Jean Murphy; grandson, Riley Joseph Hayden.
Visitation will be from noon until 2:00 pm Monday, August 5, 2024 at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home of Monticello with Rosary at 11:45 am. Funeral services celebrating Pat's life will follow at 2:00 pm Monday at the funeral home with Fr. Dan Duff, the celebrant.
Burial will follow in Riverview I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be given to the United Way Snack Shack with memo: Patricia A. Hayden. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
