Novella R. Sanson, 88, of Monticello died at 11:28 pm, Saturday, May 26, 2012, at I.U. White Memorial Hospital. She was born November 29, 1923 in Fowler, Indiana to the late Elmer and Magdalena (Hubertz) Pilotte. Her marriage was to Robert L. Sanson on February 8, 1944 in St. Bridgetts Catholic Church in Barrydale, IN. She was a member of Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church and also the Altar and Rosary Sodality. She was a 1941 graduate of Round Grove High School, in a class totaling 9. She had worked as a waitress beginning in the 1960's at Angler's Restaurant for 20 years. She was very active with the Democratic Party and a fervent supporter of Right to Life. She loved going to the White County Council on Aging and playing bingo. She enjoyed crafts and playing cards, especially Canasta. She made it a priority to be up to date on current events. She was most passionate about her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She is survived by 4 daughters, Annette M. Douglas of Monticello, Gloria Overbeck of Monticello, Mary Ann McGlothlin (Companion, Billy Woodcock) of Monticello, Karen (Randy) Leonard of Reynolds; 6 sons, Larry (Emily) Sanson of Monticello, Mike Sanson of Monticello, Phillip C. Sanson of Buffalo, Ken "Joe" (Jeannie) Sanson of Lafayette, John (Patti) Sanson of Maryville, TN, Steve (Yong) Sanson of Montgomery, AL; 4 brothers, Alvin Pilotte of St. Cloud , FL, Norbert (Maryjane) Pilotte of Monticello, Frank (Virginia) Pilotte of Grant Park, IL, James (Wilma) Pilotte of Lafayette; 28 grandchildren; and 40 great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by brothers, Elmer and Paul Pilotte; and sisters, Elieen Pilotte and Regina Cokl. Visitation will be from 5 pm until 8 pm, Monday, May 28 at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home. Rosary will be at 7:45 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 am, Tuesday, at Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church with Father Gerald Borawski celebrating. Burial will follow in Riverview I.O.O.F. Cemetery, rural Monticello. Memorial contributions may be given to White County Council on Aging. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
