Norman E. Tower,83, of Monticello, IN passed away on Wednesday, September 3, 2008 at 8:15am at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Lafayette, IN. He was born on July 19, 1925 in Elroy, Wisconsin to Mark L. Tower and Julia (Doane)Tower. He married Arlene I. (Steinbrink) Tower on July 6, 1949 in Mauston, WI. She survives in Monticello, IN. He attend Elroy High School Mr. Tower was in the Coast Guard before entering the U.S. Army during WWII. Mr. Tower worked for General Telephone where he made telephone frames for the dial telephone and switch board. He retired after 34 years in 1983. He belonged to the Stowger Mens Social Club from GTE. He belonged to the Good Fellows. Mr. Tower was a Cub Scout Leader and Boy Scout Leader. He was a member of the American Legion, VFW, Moose and a lifetime member of the AMVETS all in Monticello. He was commander of the AMVETS in Streamwood, IL. Memorials may be made to the White County Food Pantry or the the American Heart Association. He is survived by Many Nieces and Nephews He is preceded in death by his Parents, 2 Sisters: Donna J. Cardoni and Virginia Dean. 2 Brothers, Robert J. Tower and Robert Francis Doane. Burial will take place at Riverview I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Monticello, IN. A Vistitation will be held from 4-8pm Sunday, September 7, 2008 at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home. A Men of the Moose Service will be held at 7:30pm. A Funeral Service will be held at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home, Monday, September 8, 2008, 11 AM with the Pastor Jim Ward officiating.
