Norma Maxine Begley, 74, of Monticello, went to be with Jesus at 7:05 pm, Saturday, April 18, 2009. She passed away at Seton Specialty Hospital in Lafayette surrounded by her loving family. She was born on May 27, 1934 in Chalmers, and was the daughter of the Late Dellus and Dorothea (Raines) Spear. Her marriage was to Willie Begley on July 23, 1955 in Monticello, and he preceded her in death. They had five children, Mark (Sandra) Begley of Meridan, Mississippi; Vicki (Steve) Knowles of Kenosha, Wisconsin; Brenda Wiseley of Monticello; Sherri Begley of Buffalo; Will (Rose) Begley also of Buffalo. Norma has three stepchildren, Jim (Janet) Begley of Logansport; Rick (Pat) Begley of Monticello; and Joy (John) Bueno of Kentucky. She is also survived by 25 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren. Norma was baptized at Amana Baptist Church where she was a member. She retired from RCA. She enjoyed cooking, baking pies for her loved ones, and reading. She liked garage selling, shopping, and looking for bargains. Above all, she loved spending time with her family. Normas beautiful memory will continue, and never be forgotten by her family who loved and cherished her. Other survivors include her brothers and sisters, Shirley Spear of Lafayette; Willard Spear of Indianapolis; Willis Bus Spear of Monticello; Frank (Michelle) Spear of Mulberry; and Virginia (Marty) Palmer of Highland Ranch, Colorado. She is also preceded in death by a stepson, Jim; 1 brother, Willie Spear; and 2 sisters, Marge Fulford, and Ruth Emery. Visitation will be from 4 until 8 pm, Tuesday, April 21 at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be at 2 pm, Wednesday at the funeral home with Pastor Tom Bennett officiating.
