Nina L. Davis

Nina L. (Sharp) Davis, 88, of Monticello, formerly of Reynolds, passed away peacefully on July 31, 2014 at Franciscan St. Elizabeth East Hospital in Lafayette. She was born on November 15, 1925 in rural Benton County, Indiana to the late Thomas Robert and Grace Loraine (Danner) Sharp. She married Ray Davis on February 14, 1946 and he passed on November 19, 1981. She was a longtime member of the Guernsey Church of the Brethren and was actively involved with the Ladies Aide. She was a homemaker, enjoyed baking and was a cook for many years at Reynolds Elementary. Nina enjoyed reading, puzzles and working diligently in her yard with her flower and vegetable gardens. . She is survived by four daughters, Donnetta (Ron) Wheeldon of Monticello, Diane R. Davis of McDonough, GA, Beth (Duane) Herr of Reynolds, Mary (Companion, Alan) McFadden of Lafayette; six sons, Kenneth (Reagan) Davis of Rensselaer, Robert (JoAnn) Davis of Monticello, David (Angie) Davis of Attica, Rick (Darlene) Davis of Monticello, Jim (Toni) Davis of Palm Coast, FL, Jeff Davis of Reynolds; brother, James (Joyce) Sharp of Monticello; and a sister, Ellen Simmons of Monticello. Also surviving are 26 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren; 6 great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Dustin Dane Davis; brother, Thomas D. Sharp; daughter-in-law, Elda Davis. Visitation will be on Sunday, August 3, 2014 at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home of Monticello from 12pm until the time of funeral services at 2pm with Rev. Dana Hood officiating. Interment will follow at the Bedford Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to the Guernsey Church of the Brethren. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
