Mildred Larimer

Mildred Pauline Larimer, 86, of Monticello, passed away at 3:10 am, Sunday, April 26, 2015 at Monticello Healthcare Center. She was born on June 1, 1928 in Franklin, Kentucky to the late Alvin and Gertha (Owens) Sickels. She married Chester Larimer and he preceded her in death . She was a graduate of Lafayette Jeff High School and worked as a vocational rehabilitation secretary in Lafayette from which she retired. She was the fastest typist among her graduating class. Mrs. Larimer enjoyed sewing, but most especially quilting, as she lovingly made quilts for each one of her grandchildren. She enjoyed paper crafts and making cards, reading, cooking, and collecting clowns. Survivors include daughter, Brenda (Jim) Staggs of Monticello; special niece who was like a daughter, Pam (Larry) Felix of Stockwell; six grandchildren including, Mike (Angie) Staggs of California and Jamie (Wess) Hicks of Monticello; eleven great-grandchildren; and several great great grandchildren; and a brother, Jack Sickels of Lafayette. She was also preceded in death by a son, Mason Barclay; daughter, Cindy O'Clair; sister, Betty Eads; and brother, William "Buck" Sickels. Private family services will be at a later date.
