Melba Grace Hill, 94, of Monticello died at 8:44 am, Wednesday, July 3, 2013 Monticello Assisted Living and Healthcare Center. She was born on March 26, 1919 in Indianapolis to the late Franklin and Margaret (Weber) Rector. On May 23, 1938, in Indianapolis, she married Harry L. Hill Jr. who preceded her in death May 3, 1977. She was a member of the Monticello Christian Church. Grace was a graduate of Warren Central High School in Indianapolis and worked at Sears and K-Mart in Monticello for many years. She volunteered with the Red Cross Blood Bank. She enjoyed watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren participate in Twin Lakes Sports. She also enjoyed meeting her girlfriends for lunch. Survivors include two sons, Robert (Kathy) Hill of Delphi, Harry L. (Patricia) Hill, III of Columbus, Indiana; ten grandchildren, Harry L. Hill IV, Debi Machino, Lana Hill, Shawn Craig, Dustin Craig, John Hill Jr., Jeanette Wilson, Abigail Hayden, Neil Pitstick; fourteen great-grandchildren; and one great-great granddaughter. She was also preceded in death by a son, John Franklin Hill; and a granddaughter, Mindy. Visitation will be from 1pm until the time of services at 3pm, Friday, July 5, 2013 at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home with Rev. Chris Dodson officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview I.O.O.F. Cemetery, rural Monticello. Memorial contributions may be given to the Monticello Christian Church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
