Matt Rusinek, 86, of Monticello and Monee, IL (Eastside of Chicago)passed away Wednesday, May 16, 2007 at 5:30pm at White County Memorial Hospital surrounded by his children. He was born May 23, 1920 at Detroit, MI to the late Walter Rusinek and the late Marya (Leja)Rusinek. He married Dorothy(Hoffman)at Chicago. She passed away on December 22, 1981. Mr. Rusinek worked at U.S. Steel in Chicago, IL for over 30 years as a Laddle Liner. Mr. Rusinek was a member of the Annaciata Catholic Church in Chicago, IL. Although Mr. Rusinek was a native born American he returned to Poland with his parents. While living in Poland during WWII, and working at the family farm, he was captured and held prisoner of War. Finally he was released because he was a U.S. Citizen. Memorial daonations may be made to Monticello Assisted Living and Healthcare Auguste Cottage. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. He is survived by 3 Sons, Richard (Zelma) Rusinek of Sparland, IL, Leon (Gwynn) Rusinek of Monticello, IN, Matty (Cita) Rusinek of LeMoore, CA 1 Daughter, Bebe (Paul) Cattoni of Monee, IL 8 Grandchildren, 7 Great Grandchildren, 2 Great Great Grandchildren He was preceded in death by his wife, one brother, and several sisters. Private family services will be conducted Friday at Holy Cross Cemetery. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery Calumet City, IL. Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.
