Mary Louise Howkinson

Mary Louise Howkinson, 96, of Monticello died at 10:10am on Wednesday, November 25, 2009 at Whispering Pines. She was born on January 16, 1913 in Flora to the late Nola L. and Gertrude( Kennedy) Finney. She married Richard L. Howkinson on April 5, 1939 in Flora. He preceded her in death in 1993. She graduated from Flora High School. Mrs. Howkinson worked for United Telephone Company in Flora for six years. She was a member of the Monticello United Methodist Church. Mrs. Howkinson was in the United Methodist Women Circle. She was in Tri-Kappa Associates. Mrs. Howkinson liked playing bridge and enjoyed her family, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by 2 Sons, James B. Howkinson of Indianapolis, John W. (Barb) Howkinson of Rochester, ; Daughter, Jan (Jon) Arnott of Monticello; 6 Grandchildren and several great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by a daughter, Jill Ann and a sister Ora Martin. Graveside Services will be held at Maple Lawn Cemetery , Flora, on Saturday, November 28, 2009, at 2:30pm. with Rev. Brian Beeks officiating. Burial will take place at Maple Lawn Cemtery. Memorial Donations may be made to Lakeview Commons or to the Monticello United Methodist Church.
