On August 28, 1993 she married the love of her life, Joseph Lakey, and they blended a beautiful family together. They were looking forward to celebrating their 30 year anniversary in just a few weeks.

Mary was very passionate about many things in her lifetime, but her greatest passions were being a mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
