Mary Jane Wescoat, 89, of Monticello died at 11:05 am, Sunday, January 13, 2013 at White Oak Health Campus in Monticello. She was born October 7, 1923 in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late Virgil and Helen (Gump) Morris. Her marriage was to Edwin "Ed" A. Wescoat on March 10, 1941 in Chicago, and he preceded her in death May 28, 1994. Mary Jane was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Monticello. She was primarily a homemaker and co-owned the Trees Resort with her husband from 1951, when she moved to Monticello, until 1979 when she retired. She was an avid bowler and was a fifty-year member of the Monticello Bowling Association. She also enjoyed playing Bridge. Surviving are 3 daughters, Barbara Bailey of Monticello, Joyce Hadl of Coloma, Michigan, Nancy Houser of Idaville; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Robert Brown; three sons-in-law; and a grandson. Visitation will be from noon until the time of services at 2pm, Tuesday, January 15 at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home with Rev. Thomas Albaum of the Monticello First Presbyterian Church officiating. The Presbyterian Prayer Circle will be at 11:45 am at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Riverview I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
