Mary Ann Groh, beloved mother and friend, passed away peacefully on February 18, 2024 at the age of 85. She was born on June 19, 1938 in Chicago to the late Andrew and Helen (Pszolinske) Skepnek. She lived a life filled with faith, compassion and unwavering love.
Mary Ann dedicated her life to caring for her family and nurturing those around her. Her warmth and gentle spirit touched the lives of all who knew her. She loved to garden and was a woman of deep faith, who spent her free time volunteering at the church, singing in the church choir, and providing comforting words to those in the hospital through her work and hospital ministry.
She is survived by three sons, Rich Groh of Monticello, IN, Paul Groh of Los Angeles, CA and Michael Groh of Elgin, IL; one daughter, Donna (Brad) Garey of Alexandria, VA; one brother, Richard Skepnek of Port St. Lucie, FL; two son-in- laws, Keith Phelps and Dave Hudik; eight grandchildren, Luke Groh (Liza Groh), Madison Phelps, Nicole Phelps, Nick Hudik and Jacob Hudik, Isabella Garey, Ava Garey, and Olivia Garey; one great grandson, Marcus Groh.
Along with her parents she is also preceded in death by her sister Marguerite Wooton, her former husband, Paul Roger Groh and her two daughters, Pamela Groh-Phelps and Cynthia Groh-Hudik.
Mary Ann leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories that will live on in the hearts of those she touched.
A celebration of Mary Ann's life will be held at a later date in the Chicago area. May her soul rest in peace, and my her memory be a blessing to all who knew her.
