Mark Arthur Jasek, 60, of Lafayette, passed away on March 15, 2021 at his residence.
He was born on June 4, 1960 in Chicago to the late Thaddeus "Ted" and Ann Marilyn (Schmidt) Jasek. Ann survives in Monticello. He was married to Anna (Little) Jasek. She preceded him in death.
Mark was a graduate of Thorton Fractional North High School in Calumet City. He received his master's degree in Homeland Security. He served in the Army and Air Force for a combined service length of 31 years. He worked in security for Majestic Security. Mark liked to travel and was stationed in Egypt, Sardinia and Germany. He was an avid reader and enjoyed reading history biographies. Mark loved walking his dog, Bella.
He is also survived by a sister, Mary Tyus of Monticello; a stepson, Zachary (Anahy) Long of San Diego, CA and three grandchildren, Milo, Sam and Ted Long and his beloved dog, Bella.
He was also preceded in death by a brother, Stanley Jasek.
Graveside services will be held on Monday, March 22, 2021 at 1:00 pm at Bedford Cemetery in Monon, Indiana.
Burial will be held immediately following the graveside service.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Indiana Veterans Home.
