Marion Goffe, 94, of Monticello, passed away on Saturday, December 12, 2020 at White Oak Health Campus.
She was born on February 21, 1926 in Indianapolis to the late Fred and Martha Hannah (Harrison) Gregg. Her first marriage was to Bert Shockley and from this union came the joy of her two sons Fred and Kenneth. She later married Raymond L. "Barney" Squires, in December 1976, and he preceded her in death in September 1995. On April 17, 1997 she married Tom Goffe and he survives.
Marion was a graduate of Arsenal Technical High School in Indianapolis. She graduated from Indiana Business College and worked as a paralegal secretary for several companies, including Ice Miller Donadio and Ryan from which she retired in 1985.
She was a member of Monticello Christian Church. Marion enjoyed traveling, dancing, boating, fishing, bird watching and living on the lake. "Mimi" especially enjoyed time spent with her grandchildren, teaching them to fish and was always ready to play cards or board games.
Marion is survived by her husband, Tom Goffe of Monticello; her sons Fred (wife, Judy) Shockley, and Kenneth (wife, Mary) Shockley of Indianapolis; Tom's children, Dave (wife Luann) Goffe, Debbie Goffe Seaver (husband Joe), Mary Beth Gould Slack (husband Mike), Mark (wife Fran) Gould, Marcia Gould VanDyne (deceased) (husband, Paul VanDyne);grandchildren, Michael, Lauren, Eric and James Shockley; Aaron Goffe and Windy Goffe Gomez; Tom and Janey Seaver; Bill and Jimmy Gould; Schuyler and Patrick Slack; and Scott and David VanDyne. Her granddaughter, Sarah Gould, preceded her in death. She also had 6 great-grandchildren, June and Bennett Shockley, Nolan and Iris Seaver, and Saige and Amira Smith.Visitation will be from 11 am until 1 pm on Thursday, December 17, 2020 at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home of Monticello.
Funeral services will be at 10 am, Friday at the funeral home and is limited to invited family members. Friends and family are invited to attend Marion's funeral service via live webcast using the following link https://webcasts.lifetributes.com/1107709
Burial services will be limited to family members on Friday at Washington Park East Cemetery, Indianapolis at approximately 1:30 pm.
