Marilyn Lind

Marilyn Molly Lind, 88, of Monticello, formally of Lockport, died at 5:20 pm, Wednesday, November 3, 2010 at the White County Memorial Hospital. She was born August 14, 1922 at Sleath, Indiana to the late Robert Doan and Addie M. (Siferd) Burris. On April 26, 1940, she married Robert D. "Bob" Lind at Burnettsville. They were married by Rev. Verdin Graham in the church parsonage. He preceded her in death August 24, 1981. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Monticello since 1988 and was very active at the church. She was a homemaker and the mother of eight children. She also worked at RCA from which she retired in1983. She cherished her children and grandchildren. They were her life. She enjoyed her dogs and growing flowers. She also enjoyed cooking and was well known for her chicken and noodles and various homemade breads. She is survived by daughters, Barb (Jim) Staley of Monticello, Bev (Don) Tatlock of Monticello, Susie (Jim) Rowland of Monticello, Dorothy (Roger) Bosse of Battle Creek, Michigan; sons, John (Sandy) Lind of Burnettsville, Jim (Vonda) Lind of Monticello; sisters, Margaret (Bob) Suiter of Earl Park, Indiana, Lucille (Harold) Zarse of Lafayette; brother, Ralph (Marge) Burris of Lebanon;; twenty-three grandchildren; forty-two great grand children; and two great-great grandchildren. She is also preceded in death by two sons Tommy Lind, Bill and wife Barb Lind; sons-in-law Leo Price and John Edwards; and two granddaughters Debra Powell and Debbie Lind. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 8 p.m., Saturday, November 6 at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home and also one hour prior to services at the church. Funeral Services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday at the First Baptist Church of Monticello, with Rev. Ryan Bailey officiating. Burial will follow at the Thompson Cemetery, Royal Center.
