Marilyn Joan Fennell, nee Goyer, was born to Joe & Dell Goyer on Jan. 11th, 1930. She was raised in Chicago with her sister, Jean Clare (Robert White). Marilyn was graduated from Loretto High School in 1947. She began her nurses training, which was put on hold when she married Jack Fennell, the great. They spent 61 years together until his death on January 6, 2009. Together they raised their children John (Myong), Joe (Carol), Ed (Laura), Pat (Will Major), Lynn (Wayne Woosley), Mike (Kathy), Katy (Rick Kotora), Tim (Lynette) and the late Christopher Robin (1994) in the house that Jack built in Darien, Ill. She is also survived by her beloved sister Jean White, and her beloved sister-in-law, Kathryn ODonnell Marilyn attained her RN at the age of 48 years. She worked at Hinsdale Hospital and Mercy Hospital until her retirement in 1992. She and Jack retired to Monticello, IN. in 1995 (?) where they continued their Christian life at Our Lady of the Lakes Church and enjoyed their children, 22 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Marilyn was devoted to her family, her friends and anyone in need of her great compassion and gift of care-giving. She lived her faith and spread its teachings by her example, her word and her continuing involvement with Cursillo, Marriage Encounter and St. Thomas Hospice. She enjoyed her books, played at bridge, nearly mastered gardening and reveled in the stories of her family. Goodnight, dear heart, you are so loved & missed and we will tell your stories always.
