Marianne Scripter, 88, of Monticello, passed away on Saturday, March 29, 2025 at White Oak Health Campus.
She was born on December 14, 1936 in Goodland to the late Marion and Mercedes (Stombaugh) Miiller. On October 1, 1955 she married A. Jack Scripter in Goodland. He preceded her in death .
She was a 1954 graduate of Goodland High School and went on to work at and retire from Heckman Bindery. She was an active participant at White County Council on Aging where she liked to play Bingo and have the occasional lunch. Marianne enjoyed reading and jigsaw puzzles. She cherished her family and spending time with them.
She was a member of Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church.
She is survived by son, Perry (Chris) Scripter of South Bend; son-in-law, Larry Sterrett of Burkesville, KY; grandchildren, Jared (Angie) Sterrett of Buffalo, Craig (Emily) Sterrett of West Moreland, TN, Ryan Scripter of Kingsland, GA, Daniel Scripter (Marie Queen) of Indianapolis; and six great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Jack; daughter, Pamela J. Sterrett; grandchildren, Stacie, Traci and Benjamin Sterrett; and sisters, Doris Lowry and Genevieve Deno.
Visitation will be Friday, April 4, 2025 from 11:00 am until 12:30 pm at Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church. Rosary will be prayed at 12:30 pm followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 1:00 pm, with Father Dan Duff the Celebrant.
Burial will be in Remington Cemetery.
Memorial contributions are encouraged to Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church or St. Jude Children's Hospital. Envelopes will be available at the church.
