Margaret "Peg" McKinney, 73, of Indianapolis, passed away Wednesday, April 28, 2021, at Cumberland Pointe Nursing Home in West Lafayette, Indiana, following an extended illness.
Peg was born in Washington, Indiana on October 31, 1947. She was a 1965 graduate of Washington High School. She obtained a degree in teaching at Indiana State Teachers College, and after teaching school for a while, began working at Indiana State Teachers Association where she eventually retired. She lived in Indianapolis most of her adult life. She had a passion for teaching Spanish to young children and spent many hours doing this at several parochial schools in the area.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Camilla (OConnor) McKinney and by her beloved dogs, Liam and Lil Bit.
Surviving are her brother, Dave (Mary) McKinney of Francisco, Indiana; sisters, Marie (Perrin) Sapp of San Mateo, Florida, and Kathy (Jerry) Altman of Monticello, Indiana, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
